About Us

About Stoney Creek

Stoney Creek Fisheries was started in 1970 by Steve and LeAnn Ouwinga. The fish that we raised were sold to restaurants, public fishing and for pond stocking. After a few years, the decision was made to concentrate on pond stocking. As Stoney Creek’s customer base grew, so did the request for other types of fish – so over the years, bluegill, bass and other species were offered. In 1986, Dave Ouwinga graduated from school and joined the company full time. At this time, due to the high number of customer requests for equipment and pond supplies, the “equipment” portion was added to Stoney Creek Fisheries & Equipment. Because the pond supplies could be shipped to anyone, anywhere, Stoney Creek has experienced rapid growth nationally. We are pleased to have supplied over 27,000 customers from all 50 states and Canada.
