BIO-BLOX FILTER MEDIA
This polyester filter media is a great low cost choice for large volume
applications like waterfall filter boxes. EasyPro grinds this
media in-house, allowing us to offer very competitive pricing.

Approximately 500 square feet of surface
area in every cubic foot of material, this allows for maximum filtration in
a given area.

 ULTRA
BIO-MEDIA
Ultra Bio-Media is a floating media with
a very high bio-film surface that is many times greater than other plastic
media, such as bio balls, various mats and foams, beads, ribbon and brush type
media, etc. Superior bacterial adhesion and colonization is achieved due to the
surface texture and grade of plastic used. Under a patent pending process, Ultra
Bio-Media is seeded with bacteria and barley to kick start the nitrification
process. Approximately 500 square feet of surface area per cubic foot.
Ultra Bio-Media weighs approximately 8
pounds per cubic foot.
Media is sold and packaged by weight and settling may occur in shipping. Ultra Bio-Media can be purchased by the cubic foot or bulk packed in 28 cubic foot Gaylord boxes.

FILTER FLOSS BIO-MEDI A
Filter
Floss Bio-Media is ribbon type material commonly used in our Aquafalls
pond filters in place of lava rock. Filter Floss is a flat
strapping that is embossed on both sides creating additional surface
area for bacteria. Filter Floss Bio-Media is lightweight, will
last indefinitely and has no effect on water quality. Pond
builders installing our Aquafalls filters will find it easy to convince
customers to upgrade to this media since each media bag in the filter
will weight only 4 pounds instead of 40 pounds if filled with lava rock!
This makes cleaning much easier! Each box completely fills two
MB21 mesh bags and contains approximately
4.5 cubic feet of material.

 FILTRATION MEDIA
Stoney Creek is pleased to offer Matala filter media!
 This
media is the finest biological media available and although it costs a little
more - it will outlast all other similar products!
Matala is available in four different densities for various
types of filtration:
BLACK: Very coarse, open weave - good for
high flow applications
GREEN: Coarse, semi-open weave - allows good
flow yet filters well
BLUE: Medium, fairly dense weave - traps a
lot of debris, medium flow
GRAY: Fine, dense weave - lower flow but
thorough filtration
For best results mix layers of Matala using a coarse layer first for large solids removal followed by
denser layers for fine debris. Due to its unique design, Matala media is
much more rigid than traditional polyester media. This makes it easier to
clean but does not allow it to be rolled up like other media.

using filter pads! One layer of Matala green and two layers of blue are
available as an option in all Aquafalls filters.

FILTER BRUSHES
 Filter
brushes have long been used in the koi industry as a great filter media.
Brushes will collect large amounts of debris yet will not restrict water flow
even when dirty. Filter brushes work well for both solids removal or
biological filtration. Available in 15" or 23" long and can be cut down in
length if needed.
