Recommended Stocking Rates
When stocking a fish pond or lake for the first time or when
adding fish to the present population, factors such as size of pond, depth,
temperatures, weeds present or not present, structure, clarity, etc., all
determine what kind and how many fish to stock. Please give us a call or
stop in and see us for more information.
Examples of Recommended MAXIMUM Stocking
Rates:
The following
are some examples of the maximum stocking rates for a pond. Stocking less
than the amounts shown is fine, but stocking over these rates should be avoided
unless proper aeration is used and a feeding program is in place. Unless
heavy fishing pressure is regularly applied, these amounts will provide adequate
populations.
